Suggested 9–10 Day Shimla–Kinnaur–Spiti Itinerary

Day 1: Chandigarh → Shimla

Start from Chandigarh and drive towards Shimla. Enjoy the changing mountain views and reach by afternoon or evening. Check in and explore the Mall Road or nearby points.

Day 2: Shimla → Narkanda

After breakfast, leave Shimla and drive towards Narkanda. On the way, you can stop at Kufri or other view points depending on time. Reach Narkanda, known for forests and apple orchards, and stay overnight.

Day 3: Narkanda → Sangla

Drive along the Sutlej River and enter the Kinnaur region. Reach Sangla Valley by late afternoon. You can enjoy riverside walks and quiet village surroundings.

Day 4: Sangla → Chitkul → Kalpa

Visit Chitkul, often called the last village of India on this side. Later, drive towards Kalpa. By evening, watch the sunset views over the Kinner Kailash mountain range.

Day 5: Kalpa → Nako → Tabo

Continue from Kalpa towards Nako and then Spiti. Stop at Nako Lake and viewpoints on the way. Reach Tabo for the night and, time permitting, visit the ancient monastery area.

Day 6: Tabo → Dhankar → Kaza

Today’s drive includes Dhankar village and, if you wish, a visit towards Dhankar Lake (time and fitness dependent). Later, drive to Kaza, the main town of Spiti Valley.

Day 7: Kaza Local Sightseeing

Use this day for local Spiti sightseeing. Popular stops include Hikkim (post office), Komic (high village) and Langza (fossil area and views). Return to Kaza for the night.

Day 8: Kaza → Chandratal (Seasonal) / Manali Route

In the open season, you can travel towards Chandratal Lake via Kunzum Pass. Otherwise, you can start the return journey towards Manali directly. Night stay either near Chandratal (camp, if opted) or closer to the Manali side.

Day 9: Chandratal / Kaza Side → Manali

Continue the drive towards Manali, crossing high passes and changing landscapes. Reach Manali by evening and rest.

Day 10: Manali → Chandigarh (Optional Day)

If you choose a full 10 day loop, keep this day for a relaxed drive back to Chandigarh with planned halts on the way. The driver drops you at your preferred point.
